Advice For Buying Health Insurance

Whether you are currently insured and are looking at
changing policies or you are uninsured and need to get Pennsylvania
health insurance there are a few things that you need to consider:

1.
Pennsylvania law states that you have a review period of ten days after
you receive your policy. You have the right to review the policy and
your application. If you are not satisfied you have ten days to return
the policy back to the insurance carrier and have your premium refunded
to you.

2. If you have to file a claim with a Pennsylvania health
insurance company be sure to do so within twenty days of the service.
Notify your agent and let them know that you have a claim. Make sure
that all the forms for the claim are filled out accurately and
completely.

3. If you are changing policies it is important you
do not cancel your current policy until your new one takes effect. Even
though you may have paid the premium, your policy will not go into
effect until after the insurance company approves the application. Keep
in mind that if you have a pre-existing condition, there may be a
waiting period before that condition is covered even after your policy
has been in effect. Ask your agent when the policy effective date is
and what is covered at that time.

Remember, getting a
Pennsylvania health insurance policy is beneficial should you have an
accident or become ill but knowing your rights as a consumer is just as
important.
